Amazon.com Big-voiced and soulful (in a supper-club sort of way), Gary Puckett was strictly squaresville. Too sleazy to be Neil Diamond and too stiff to be Tom Jones, he always seemed like he'd be more comfortable in a leisure suit than his ever-present Civil War duds. He made some great singles, though: "Over You," "Woman, Woman," "Young Girl" and "Lady Willpower" are undeniable classics of late '60s "horn rock," and they're all here, along with occasionally successful stabs at such hits of the day as "The Mighty Quinn," "Kentucky Woman" and "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife."
